Trouble importing and editing MOV files in PowerDirector? Fortunately, there is an easy way to fix this issue. Let's find it out here!
Q: "I just upgraded from Cyberlink PowerDirector 12 to 13 and now all my blackmagic camera footage MOV files won’t work in PowerDirector either 12 or 13 versions. I've contacted customer support they said the files are no good, but I had them working in 12 before...? Can I convert MOV to another file type if so what would suit?"
Quoted the problem from VideoMaker forum as I’ve worked out the solution to importing MOV to PowerDirector and wanna share the method here.
I have some H.264 1080p .mov files and unable to import these MOV to Cyberlink PowerDirector. Scoured the internet, I got some hints. MOV container files can contain data encoded using various compression and encoding schemes. Cyberlink PowerDirector can support MOV format, but the ability to import the data that they contain is dependent on the codecs (specifically, decoders) installed. To open and edit all MOV files in PowerDirector(13) without hassle, a better choice is to convert MOV to PowerDirector most compatible format like MPEG-2.
Brorsoft Video Converter is the utility I’ve used to get the work done. It is a great app to encode MOV to MPEG-2 for editing in PowerDirector with the best quality. With it, you can also convert MOV to MP4, AVI, FLV, WMV, etc. for different video/audio players. Meanwhile, this video app enables you to change MOV to editable format for Pinnacle Studio, Adobe Premiere Pro, Sony Vegas, Windows Movie Maker, Avid Studio, Magix Movie Edit Pro and more other NLEs. Download this software and enjoy your funny videos on the go now!
