VLC media player doesn’t seem to play Ultra HD / 4K videos perfectly? To playback your 4K files easily, check out this tutorial and get something what you need.

Problems with VLC when playing 4K videos- Quick Fix

I downloaded a 4K MPG video off YouTube with many video downloaders from I got from Firefox, every single program I tried will download the video like it suppose to, but when I play 4K video with VLC... there's no audio. I'm wondering if anyone else has this same problem, where is it coming from and How to fix it, if can. Something else: when I play some 4K videos from my camcorder (GoPro Hero4 Black creates H.264), there's a stutter. So, what’s the really workable solution to play 4K video in VLC?

Searching online and I got some tech support. Although VLC media player 2.1 has been in support playing Ultra HD / 4K videos, viewing 4K files in VLC is not so easy as we image. As the problems I occurred, the latest VLC media player still does not support 4K video playback perfectly: there is stutters, not showing audio, etc issues. Well, don't let it be your playback hurdle. Some workarounds I’ve found out online. Now share with you.

Solution 1: Download and install Media Player Classic

This popular, stripped down version of the much bulkier Windows Media Player, is a very lightweight piece of software that is free, and has no toolbars or ads packaged with it. Although you play a large sized video, Media Player Classic can load it in a moment. Take a simple click, it's super easy to play 4K videos in full screen mode.

Important Note: Installing Media Player Classic on its own does not yet provide 4K playback capabilities. The key is to also install the K-Lite Codec Pack. What's more, it can be installed on Windows only. For Mac users, it won't work at all.

Solution 2: Download and install Brorsoft Video Converter(or Mac version)

As we know, even if the VLC, Media Player Classic or other media players can support 4K, but format limit still exists there, let alone some of them can't fully support 4K videos, so it's not a possible solution for all the 4K videos. Well, the ultimate solution to playing 4K videos we can figure out is to get a 4K video converter, no matter for converting 4K video format or downscale the 4K video resolution.

There are thousands of video converters, such as Handbrake, Format Factory, but they can't play a role of 4K video encoder. Brorsoft 4K Video Converter is the best choice, which can provide the ultimate 4K viewing experience for everyone!

Overview: Developed with the most advanced converting technology, this professional 4K video converter truly and fully supports input and output videos at 4K resolution.
